Why?

Beneath the burning lights of society’s

                Main stage,

Trawling through the discrepancy that discrimination

Has yet to conquer, we’re living for others.

Living for others?

Have we not yet had it drilled into our primitively developed minds?

“Live for you and not for others” I hear the ‘wise’ ones say.

It’s not so easy when we’re only children, living in a world of ridicule.

Walls are built to hold up ceilings and keep away the cold,

And none are easier to bring down,

Than the ones above our heads,

The ones surrounding us.

Collapsing

                Falling

                                Crushing.

“Love is louder than the pressure to be perfect.”

                                                Is it?

Monsters are created by those we think we know best. Self-destruction creates a world which no poor soul should live in.

Fear of the world, Fear of others, Fear of society, Fear of judgement…

Fear of ourselves.

Which one is worse?

Beneath the burning lights of society’s

                Main stage,

Trawling through the discrepancy that discrimination

Has yet to conquer, we’re living for others.

Living for others…
