I Fell for a Shooting Star

Published October 29, 2013 by Amy Elizabeth

I fell for a shooting star
A wish that only dreamed
Of being everything it wasn’t.
It cascaded through the darkness
Blinding it’s victims at every turn.

I fell for a shooting star,
With nothing more than beauty
And everything to uphold,
It carries the weight of all it’s worth,
In a world to which only it belongs.

I fell for a shooting star.
A life of hope.
Of love.
Of dreams.

I fell for a shooting star.
A stupid thing it seems.
For they are only out a night,
And last no more than a second.
But it never dies within the heart it holds.
It knows better than that.

I fell for a shooting star.

How beautiful.
