It hurts,
Pouring your heart
Into an abyss,
That gazes with no intent,
Upon the life you feel you both
Should love.
The formidable ache kills your spirit;
Brutally. Beneath the moonlight,
Everything seems,
Quiet.
Like nothing you’ve ever felt;
The weight presses down
On you, until the glass cavern
You’ve come to know as your heart,
Shatters.
Yet, you take it?
YOU JUST STAND THERE AND TAKE IT.
Like that part of you will heal!
And while you’re leaving the way for others,
The abyss is slowly killing you,
Taking your voice as a token of its power,
Leaving you to shout invisible truths
At those who cannot hear.
At those who do not listen.
It’s you, it was always you…
But it never was.
And it hurts.
